About

Systems are everywhere. Most of them are invisible.

Nearly twenty years finding what actually limits complicated systems, now applied to careers.

I have spent nearly twenty years working across complex operational and organizational systems. My training taught me to look for constraints, incentives, dependencies, leverage points, and tradeoffs. That habit does not switch off when you leave the operations floor.

A few years ago I started applying the same thinking to decisions well outside traditional operations. When my role at Amazon ended, I had a question I could not answer cleanly: what does twenty years of experience actually make possible, beyond applying for the next similar job. I worked through it the way I would work through any system.

The Career Optionality Assessment is the first tool I built from that approach. My focus right now is careers, ownership, and how AI is changing the way value gets created. Over the longer term I expect this to become a broader set of decision tools for modern life, but that is a direction rather than a promise.
